Juvenile fish tend to
frequent shallow vegetated areas, while larger adults
are equally at home roaming open water. Hybridization
between muskellunge and northern Pike is common, with
the offspring referred to as tiger muskies. Where
pike and muskellunge exist together, adult muskellunge
tend to have a competitive advantage in areas with some
current. |
