Manitoba Canada Quick Facts

The Country of Canada has ten provinces. Manitoba is one of the provinces smack dab in the middle. Manitoba is located west of the large province of Ontario and east of the prairie province of Saskatchewan. Although known primarily as a flat prairie province known for wheat production Manitoba also has a varied topography and approximately 100,000 lakes. Manitoba s population is around 1,176,132.
What makes Manitoba fairly unique and quite an easy to coordinate travel tourism area is that in this whole large province there is one large city - Winnipeg which services as the major travel , services and logistics hub for the province of Manitoba . Brandon ,Morden, Flin Flon, Thompson, Dauphin, Churchill, The Pas, Selkirk, Portage la Prairie, Swan River, Steinbach, and Winkler are other cities in the province of Manitoba. Most of Manitoba's population , as is most of Canada , is along the southern border with the U.S. The major northern centers are Thompson ( Nickel metal mining), The Pas ( Forestry and Mining) and Churchill on the very north which sits on the Arctic Ocean and is best known for its Polar Bears and Tundra Buggy.
The province has many neat things to do, the wildlife
is my favorite. There are so many freshwater lakes to go fishing and boating in
the summer time. Hunting is also a big draw to Manitoba because there so much
undisturbed land that wildlife thrives. The province has a coast line which is
part of Hudson Bay. So you can really never run out of things to see and do in
this province.
